If those fail, go to your favorite blog/s and click on the credit (usually located in the bottom right corner). It will take you to the theme creator. Then look through their other stuff. If you liked one of their themes, you’ll probably like another!
Rainbow Kitty (St. Minority, Dorothy) got her skype call with Alex Ahad, creator of Skullgirls.
Here I present you what came out of it for you lore nerds:
A book or comic book with the linear Story of Skullgirls would be like an ensemble, where you see the same events from the view of different characters switching the narrative every once in a while, with the general focus being on Filia and or Peacock since they’re mostly involved with either the over-arching story or, in Peacock’s case, with the current Skullgirls specifically.
What happened to Filia is to be fully determined. She was different in the past but it will be revealed later on; still being faint but they have a general direction to keep it going, but it’s a secret for now. Same with what Filia did to Painwheel.
"We’re all good or bad in different ways. Yes. But I wouldn’t say she was evil. (about Filia)
Filia used to be blonde. Now that Samson took over is a middle ground where he IS her hair, and he’s made of many fibers with some sort of muscle underneat.
Alex likes and it’s fine with people in the fandom, about fanart, fanfics, etc. It’s cool and flattering that people are interested enough in the world that would make them want to expand on it.
Fans doing might influence on things like story, or the ways that the characters splash out. Stanley was supossed to be caught on the attack of Lab8.
Big Band instead, was always supposed to be a character.
Black Dahlia, D.Violet/Ms. Victoria, Venus and Eliza, were Alex’s favorites for the fanvote. He’s glad that Eliza made it in.
D.Violet’s plans for her style were based on innuendos, S&M and those kind of things, with some sort of Climax Mode.
Long range moves and grabs with her whip like the King of Fighter’s Whip.
Alex supervise everything in terms of the script and approve them. The process of choosing moves, abilities and what is needed for the tool set is a collaborative work. In the end, in terms of gameplay, Mike is in charge.
Parasoul’s Krieg has been on his family for some time, it was inherited.
Cerebella had Viceversa since birth. When she was dropped to the circus, it was with her. Comes probably from her mother.
Living weapons doesn’t age. Like most weapons, mantained can pass through generations.
They adjust to the size of the person wielding it.
Filia is smart but naive. She has a lot to learn since the amnesia.
There aren’t specifically demons on the lore of Skullgirls, and in some way, parasites fill that role. Double would be considered a demon.
In Ms. Victoria details says that he leaves to look up for a missing student. That refers to Filia. Her story mode would be around that.
Ms. Victoria retired from her days of Vigilante. Now that students that she know are getting involved, she’s back into it.
How Samson got attached to Filia is vague, but it has to do with something in her past.
There are things on the canon story that need to be fixed, in a hopefully, complete storymode (if LabZero can get to it). One of those things is why Samson push Filia to seek the Skullheart.
Nobody has been able to wish something on the Skullheart without becoming the Skullgirl, since wishes are selfish by nature.
There were 9 labs in which 7 was about drug-enhancing experiments. Last Hope (as in Valentine’s story mode) was just a part of a bigger group in that lab. An incident happened and the remaining people and artifacs were took by Lab 0.
King Renoir might be still around or not. It’s a mistery in the current state.
Why the pairing Vitale/Cerebella? Father issues.
Valentine lost her eye in the incident that destroyed Lab7. The cross in her remaining eye are result from the drugs and the experimenting, since they were part of it too, not just in charge of them.
If Filia would have a boyfriend, Samson would be a jerk with him all the time.
Samson is something that Filia can’t control aside from being in sync with him increasing her overall power.
Filia likes middle-sized dogs, like golden retrievers. Ms. Fortune likes small dogs.
Samson know how to hide himself. Closing his eyes and pretending to be a headband works too. People think that she died her hair.
In terms of personality: Filia is easygoing, while Peacock and Fortune brings the sense of humor. Cerebella would be on the sassy side, while Parasoul
in the more serious as well as Painwheel. Valentine’s sense of humor is more mean inclined. Double wouldn’t just comprehend human emotion.
Cerebella doesn’t have a life or friends outside of the circus. She does things casually, and knowing the rest of the cast might change that.
Fortune made Yu-wan and Minette her new family and the rest of the residents of that area her friends, after losing the fishbone gang.
Valentine prefers acoustic instruments (not a fan of heavy metal). Perhaps Brain Drain would be more interested on electric ones (he made that up).
Instruments in general would be the same as the time of skullgirls is set (fourties). But they can take liberties around it with the motifs of technology from the various labs.
They thought about giving Big Band a more robotic voice, but that would ruin the awesomeness of Rich Brown’s voice. They went for a more clean version.
The scar on the lips of Valentine are from a different time, not the attack on Lab 7. Not yet determined. Why she hasn’t replaced her eye is from a character design standpoint.
Fortune as a child was always with the gang. She was an orphan, and learned the art of thievery from them. She was always causing troubles.
Filia was a mocked-up princess, she’s a rich girl. And people feared her just for being in a powerful family.
Carol was always a sweet girl, kindhearted.
Parasoul childhood was always about training to become a fighter and to take the role of her father in the future as a leader. Umbrella was more goofy and spoiled in comparison.
Peacock was a tomboy type that liked to watch cartoons all day. Marie was more reserved, but hanged out with Peacock a lot as she always protected her.
Valentine had a rough childhood and entered to the labs early on, for training purposes.
Double was never a child. She seems to have been around for a while.
Parasoul chooses to be in charge of the Egrets, she likes more to take action than do paperwork. Natural leader.
In some extent, Valentine has good intentions, that hides by being a jerk most of the time. She wouldn’t admit or show feelings towards Painwheel, or regret even.
On Alcoholic drinks: Filia doesn’t like anything, but Samson whatever is at his reach. Valentine likes whiskey. Parasoul likes wine. Eliza likes beer, as the ancient egyptians used to make beer. Peacock likes Jack Daniels (Jack Donnies or John Daniels, on the Skullgirls universe).
Valentine’s relationship in Last Hope was like a team where she was more closer to Hallow than everyone else, aside from having a rivalry with Christmas in terms of leadership of the group. She took the weapons from them for sentimental reasons. One could say that they were comrades.
They all had differents styles of fighting all in terms of ninja stuff variations (Alex cites Naruto). Their names derived from Valentine. Valentine is a weeaboo, like Sodom in SF Alpha series, in that kind of way.
There are no videogames in the universe of Skullgirls. Aeon is outside that realm, that’s why you see her playing a DreamCast version of SG.
Double can’t travel through time and in terms of ranks, she’s below from Aeon and Venus. Her whole purpose is to manipulate people and situations so the skullheart can be passed to the right hands, a.k.a. giving it to someone suitable enough and desperate to wish on it and become the skullgirl. How Venus and Aeon fit in that plan is yet to be seen.
Valentine and Parasoul doesn’t have a direct relationship. Valentine worked on a organization under the government of the Renoirs. Comparatively they’re like oposites since Valentine comes from an organization that went rogue. They feel superior to each other in all terms, fighting and looks.
In terms of relationships, Valentine as kunoichi uses his sexiness as a weapon and probably isn’t interested like Parasoul. Cerebella would be more carefree. Filia dated guys before having Samson. Alex haven’t thought about it in that detail, and he won’t untill needed.
Alex doesn’t remember how the world of Skullgirls is named, and was discussed when they were thinking about the map that appears in the lobby screen on the PC version. For now there is: Canopy Kingdom, Chess(?) Kingdom, Gigan Nation, Dragon Kingdom. Canopy Kingdom is the most ambitious in terms of war affairs, but the Chess and Gigan were expanding too. That drove King Renoir to invest on technology and magic to take on those last two. In the current setting, they’re at a time of peace.
Aeon is a shut-in, hikikkomori. Venus on the other hand is more “outgoing”.
Peacock is 13 years old. Even in her current state, he can age. She would eventually be adjusted.
Skullgirls book would be like Xenogear’s. All the story line written plus pictures in it.
On how Squigly got Leviathan’s: 14 years ago, Selene (Squigly’s mother) becomes the skullgirl wishing her family to be back from being murdered by Black Dahlia. As they would become minions/zombies, Roberto (his father) in order to prevent Squigly becoming a minion on the side of skullgirls, he left Leviathan into Squigly, sacrificing himself.
Think of Samson and Leviathan as Sol and Ky, or the bad guy and the cool guy, or Logan and Scott from X men. They knew each other from a long time, and they’re technically from the same side.
Samson can feel pain from Filia’s injures. Fortune can feel pain too even how she is now.
Everyone can wield living weapons not just females. Some people would have better natural talent with them than others.
Parasites can change hosts if the host die, gets too old, can’t handle them anymore, or gets killed. The act on jumping to another host would kill the current one. They’re individuals, can decide their host too. They’re rare but the current number of parasites in the SG universe is unknown.
Humans, elf-type, ferals, dagonians, gigans, people with horns. There might be more types.
Religion and the trinity is something that Double uses to manipulate people.
Brain Drain is still a person. His brain is what is left on that machine body and he has psychic powers. He’s really smart and has been on the lab for a long time. Hes not the main leader, B.Dahlia mentions another guy, Gaigar(?). She was severily injured and this last guy put her together again. She was always “rough around the edges”.
She left the labs afterwards, becoming a bodyguard Lorenzo, since she enjoys the fight and he gave her that opportunity. She’s about 50-60. She should be dead by now, but still around due to her augmentation.
Annie would have glitter and rainbows in her attacks, lots of sparks.
There aren’t much details yet on Beowulf, aside from his macho man attitude.
Eliza is basically a vampire, she can keep living if there’s blood.
Here’s the audio file for it, it has his audio levels messed up but you can hear it with no problems

In a few days Pixiv is launching BOOTH, a digital/physical distribution and sales system fully integrated with their already wildly popular and successful online artist network.
What does BOOTH do?
BOOTH lets artists sell their work, both physical and digital, via a website linked to their Pixiv account. This means that artists who currently have a Pixiv account can sell their work to fans around the world with virtually no overhead.
What does this mean for me if I have a Pixiv account?
You can create a BOOTH “shop” and sell your artwork, comics, illustration collections, music, etc. to people all over the world. It is absolutely free to use and you can set your own prices, including prices as low as 0 yen (free).
BOOTH is also fully integrated into the Pixiv website and mobile ap, allowing you to link works in your gallery to relevant products in your BOOTH store; making it easy to direct people who browse your gallery to a related item that they might be interested in (such as a poster, print, or collection featuring the image)
What does this mean if I DON’T have a Pixiv account?
It means you can directly support your favorite artists and get cool stuff in return!
Can’t fly to Japan for Comiket this month? Just browse your favorite doujin artist’s BOOTH online and pick up a copy of their latest comic there!
Find an artist you like and want to know when they add new items to their BOOTH? You can do that too! Any creators you follow can send you notifications when they update their booth so you can grab their latest edition as soon as it hits the market!
An effortless and efficient way to directly support the creators you love, BOOTH is launching this December 19th at https://booth.pm/
For anyone who’s learning Japanese, one of the hardest things about the language is the kanji. However, I recently found two really good sites that can help you out with that!
The first one is Hiragana Megane. All you do is copy/paste the link to a Japanese page, and it will automatically put furigana over the kanji on the page. Now you can at least read the words!
And if you want to know the meaning of the kanji instead, you can use Pop Jisho! Same deal. Just copy/paste a link, except, this time, if you put your mouse over the words, the definition of the kanji comes up.
They’re not miracle workers, but I hope they’ll help you out a bit! It’s easier than having to Google Translate things all the time. Have fun!
This really is an amazing set of references. Theres over 130 boards on this pinterest page. With poses, clothing, expressions, different boards for age groups, creature references and so on. Many are from animation/cartoon movies or films as well.
If you are an artist, or aspire to be one, this is a perfect place to find a reference.
I’ve decided to start a series of short tutorials on creating video game GIFs for Tumblr, and it seems like this is the best place to start. The Super Nintendo is known for being one of the first home consoles capable of extraordinary 2D animation and beautiful pixel art. Plus its game library is enormous, and easy to emulate. SNES ROMS are available all over the place, and there are plenty of emulators to choose from.
And nothing says thanksgiving like Yu and Yosuke fighting and…okay I got nothing.
But what we (me and this lovely lady) do have a translation! For the most part, I edited some of the dialogue to keep it more intact with what was put in to the Arena game, but the extra bits are pretty good and why not?
By which I mean, we’re both at it again and it turns out Chapter 13 was released by another group as raws. After some cleanup, we finished the 2nd part to our 1st part.
In this one we get part of Yu’s POV, including lots and lots of creepy Yosuke faces as he fights partner, and the rest of the battle up to conclusion. In the middle of this there was a Mitsuru vs Naoto battle, but we kinda skipped that since this battle already had 14 pages to translate. As always, read from right to left.
As a note, we aren’t doing a 100% literal translation, rather more like the Arena game where we switch a few things around to sound better at times.
You find out how important a single word is to each other. The action sequences are really well drawn too.
